2 Days in London
In the last few days of August 2004, while in London performing my one-man show ‘Space Jockey’ in Camden Town (which also features among my other audio albums here as a live performance) I suddenly found myself without accommodation thanks to the bizarre behaviour of people I had thought were my blood family. That same afternoon prior to that event I'd recorded a vicious thunderstorm that had passed overhead and, although I didn't know it at the time, it was a symbolic precursor for what happened later that evening when my family relatives returned and demanded I leave their home because I had 'dared' to enter their living room in order to have access to the garden so I could make my recording. I told them I had nowhere else to go to as my expenses budget was almost exhausted but it made no difference. By happy coincidence and extraordinary good luck, an old friend called Mick Gough lived not far away near Warren Street Tube, around the corner from the Post Office Tower when I called him and explained the situation he said I could stay with him until the theatre run was over. Mick saved my life that week. On the first night I was there I recorded our conversation. This is my homage to one of my best friends and mentors - Mick Gough.

I'll always be grateful for Mick helping me out in those last days of August 2004. I have not seen him since, despite sending him postcards and trying to reach him by telephone. The last thing he told me was that he was planning to sell everything and go and spend the rest of his days in India. If he did, good luck to him.
